Wax
Work
Makau
waxes treed up and placed in perforated flask
ready for casting.
Investment
Investment
compound poured into flasks. Upon
setting of the investment, flasks are placed in the
burnout kiln for approximately 12 hours to remove all
traces of wax.
The
Melt & Method
Once
the burn out process is completed, the flasks are placed
on the vacuum table (or centrifugal casting machine),
and then the metal is carefully melted to it's optimum
flow point. The metal is then hand poured into the flask.
The
'After Glow'
The
flask is then allowed to bench cool to allow for proper
solidification. Once the flask has cooled, it is then
"quenched" in water. The rough castings are
now cleaned of residual investment ready for finishing
work.

BUFFING
Extreme
patience and focus is necessary to carry out the finish
polishing work. All pieces are highly polished to a
brilliant luster.
